The Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, has recorded another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s commitment to youth empowerment following a strategic meeting with the Chairman of the National Sports Commission and representatives of the Embassy of the State of Qatar.

The engagement further strengthened the growing partnership between Nigeria and Qatar, with discussions focused on expanding opportunities for Nigerian youths in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, sports, leadership development, technology, skills acquisition, and job creation.

A major outcome of the meeting was the successful conclusion of discussions on the implementation framework for the proposed Nigeria–Qatar Youth Development Programme. The initiative is expected to create sustainable pathways for youth exchange and capacity building while providing young Nigerians with increased access to global opportunities and international partnerships.

According to the Minister, the programme will leverage existing youth-focused platforms, particularly the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA) and the ongoing revitalisation of Youth Development Centres across the country, to ensure that Nigerian youths are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and exposure required to compete effectively in the global economy.

The organisation notes that collaborations of this nature will not only broaden opportunities for young people but also strengthen Nigeria’s position in global youth development initiatives.

AYM further applauds the Ministry's commitment to creating innovative solutions that connect young Nigerians with education, entrepreneurship, technology, sports, and employment opportunities beyond the nation's borders. The organisation expressed optimism that the formal signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will usher in a new era of international cooperation and youth advancement.

The Nigeria–Qatar Youth Development Programme represents another bold step toward empowering a new generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to national development while competing successfully on the global stage.
