I'm not sure if any man can say exactly when humans began using herbs for curing ailments. All I know is that the traditionalists get those materials from the bush.

The trading of these materials (ewe omo or ewe agbo) started in Akure when a woman whose name was Ayenobisi began hawking them in Akure. She usually came from her town, Ayede. Before they were called "Elewe Omo," they had a name...

Ayenobisi finally settled in Akure to do her business when she got married to Sasere Gidi. This made her the first trader of these materials in Akure before others started to join. Where was the first market of Ewe Omo....

She was later made the Head of Elewe-omo by a Deji.
